This unbelievable love story uses 13 years of personal archives to chart the evolving romance between a Lebanese journalist and a Syrian cameraman. Award winner, Sundance 2026.

During the Battle of Aleppo, Lebanese journalist Janay Boulos works from London, as journalists are banned from entering Syria. Seeking footage, she texts Syrian-based cameraman Abd Alkader Habak. What begins as a professional request soon evolves into a romantic bond. Drawing on their own 13-year archive of texts and voice notes, this sensitive documentary charts Boulos and Habak's love story throughout the many conflicts in the region. We follow their lives through dramatic change, as Boulos becomes dissatisfied with journalism and Habak is forced to face the turmoil of war at home. A moving film about love overcoming distance that also serves as an urgent account of journalism under siege.

Like a flower that somehow emerges through concrete, love can blossom even in a space of unfathomable violence.
